Feedback on Laksae

Oh my goodness, early in the morning on 13 October, received sms from my Mrs Wong informing that she is ill and can't come to work that day. I asked her to rest and said that I could managed. Luckily, the orders were not large.

It started quite well. Cooked the rice noodles and sliced the vegetables - long beans, cucumber, daun kesom in stages ie only when I ran out of them. Reheated the sauce which I had made the night before. The sauce took me three hours to cook until it reached thick consistency. Then I keep them in 2 pots in the refrigerator.

Glad that I packed the laksae and delivered them before noon.

Feedback from my clients:
1. Delicious. Love it!
2. Its totally different from those that they bought from Kuala Lumpur - something different. Yummy!
3. The sauce is just enough - no leftovers at all!
4. Should cater Laksae once a month.

Think I may go for it! ^_^

Laksae

My next dish is Laksae. Its a rice noodle dish served with raw vegetable and slurppy sauce. Yummy ^_^. The sauce is grinded fish cooked in spices and coconut santan over low heat for a few hours until a thick consistency is reached.

Laksae is scheduled for 13 October, hence the closing of placing of orders is 12 noon, Monday 10 October. Will post some photos after 13 Oct after I take some on that day.

Nasi Kerabu - Tumis

This is how my Tumis looks like. Clockwise from Top Left to Right: Piece of chicken, cabbage, grinded fish, cucumber, long beans, daun kesom, pieces of keropok. Centre: yellow rice, coconut and on top of the rice - spicy chili sauce; bottom: bean sprout.

Decided to add another menu beside my signature dish, Khau Jhum on 29 Sept. The condiments are the same except for the rice, sauce and chicken. The rice is cooked in juices of kunyit. The sauce is dried chilies cooked in spices and coconut santan until the oil surfaces. It took me three long hours to cook the sauce over low heat and the effort is worth it, yummy!

The last time, I had this menu was in 2007. Surprisingly, the orders for Tumis is slightly more than Khau Jhum.

In between

Yes, am still doing my home catering biz. As my son's activities are rather hectic for this month, am only scheduling 29 Sept this month for Nasi Kerabu "Khau Jhum".

In between during the mornings, I baked cupcakes with various types of fillings - blueberry, mixed fruits, chocolate chip and etcs. Yummy, yummy................ My son's favourite filling is blueberry whereas my husband's is mixed fruits.
